Dr Wei Zhang

Wei is a Research Director at nChain in London, leading the R&D Cryptography Programme.  He has mentored many researchers, helping the team to adopt agile approaches with open mindedness that leads to collaborative innovations and great productivity. His previous experience in industry also allows him to contribute to product development, client projects, business strategies, and the growth of the ecosystem. Wei is a specialist in privacy-preserving computation, blockchain applications, public key infrastructure, and identity management. He’s collaborated with IBM on fully homomorphic encryption and oblivious transfer and has software development experience in trading platforms for capital markets at Accenture. He graduated with a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Mathematics from Trinity College, University of Cambridge and holds a PhD in Cryptography from Royal Holloway College, University of London.
