John Murphy

John is a Senior Software Engineer in the Emerging Technology Programme at nChain. He is responsible for building prototypes to demonstrate potential use cases for nChain’s patents. He has made it his mission to build trust and belief in data, and shines a spotlight on accountability, transparency and provability in a bid to make the world a better and more honest place. John’s focus is peer-to-peer payments in an IPv6 network setting, UTXO dataset creation, and using a threshold signature scheme to safely secure a private key. John is also an expert in NFTs, Bitcoin node operation, overlay networks, network scaling solutions, network monitoring and modelling, and mining infrastructure. John has a degree in Engineering in Electronics from Munster Technological University and a Master’s in Financial Mathematics from King’s College London.
